Ben Clayton is an experienced director & editor based in Richmond, London. He has worked in many areas of the film and television industry, from feature films to corporate documentaries.
Ben graduated from the prestigious Bournemouth Film School in 1999, with the year prize for Outstanding Achievement. In 2000 he started his filmmaking career, working as an assistant editor with The Creative Partnership in London. Over a three-year period he worked on over one hundred film trailers, including Love Actually, 28 Days Later, Bridget Jones’s Diary and Dirty Pretty Things.
In 2003, Ben left London and the UK behind him when he travelled to South America. There he took part in a humanitarian aid expedition with Raleigh International. He returned in 2004 to start work as a freelance editor & director.
Recent editing projects include a series of TV adverts for Resident Evil 5, which aired throughout Europe. Multiple projects for the Adidas website with advertising agency Iris Nation, car adverts for Hyundai, TV spots for the Coen Brothers’ latest offering ‘Burn After Reading’ and Bryan Singer’s ‘Valkyrie’ starring Tom Cruise. On the directing side of things, Ben has produced a second video for The Fins and a corporate film for PelGar International. He continues to edit on both Avid and Final Cut Pro on a freelance basis throughout the UK.
